Tosheena Robinson-Blair

They're looking for alumni, students, staff, faculty and other fans of Riverdale High School's sports teams who love to get swept away in the heat of a game.

And they want them to announce their pride in their teams to the rest of the world.

AREA SCHOOLS WANT CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP

jezzell@murfreesboropost.com

Josh Ezell - MURFREESBORO POST

Nike has the slogan, “Just Do It.” Frosted Flakes has the catchy “They’re grrrreat!” Riverdale High School recently adopted the slogan, “Tradition Never Graduates.”

Riverdale, which has enjoyed success in athletics during its time on Warrior Drive, developed the slogan to communicate its values and philosophy. Riverdale also hopes the corporate world takes notice of its success. Spearheaded by Warriors girls’ basketball coach/athletic director Micheal Burt, Riverdale hopes to create a partnership with a business that would benefit the school and business.

“Championships are what people look at,” said Burt, who coached Riverdale to the Class AAA girls state basketball title this year and coached Miss Basketball winner Anne Marie Lanning.

“The bigger picture is the end product,” added Burt, whose 2007 squad was the first Murfreesboro team since 1924 to win a girls state basketball title. “This brand helps build that.”
